The Harvard College Library used ledgers to record the loans of books from the library's collection during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Park Carpenter (1890-1967) was born in Northfield, Minnesota on May 5, 1890, the son of Clarence P. Carpenter and Lulu Mcelruth Carpenter.
